I Built an AI Assistant You Can Run on Your Own Computer — Here’s Why

For the past few weeks I’ve been building something I wish I had when I started running R Unlimited LLC.

It’s called ARIA — an AI virtual assistant that runs locally on your Windows, Mac, or Linux computer. No subscriptions. One payment. Yours forever.

What ARIA does:

  • Drafts professional emails in any tone in seconds
  • Manages your task list and keeps it between sessions
  • Researches topics and gives you structured summaries
  • Preps you for meetings with agendas and talking points

It’s powered by Claude (Anthropic’s AI) and takes about 5 minutes to set up. You provide your own Anthropic API key — which costs roughly $0.10–$2.00/day depending on how much you use it. That’s it.

ARIA Pro adds three more capabilities: live web search via DuckDuckGo (no extra API key), calendar export to Google/Outlook/Apple Calendar, and Slack notifications for your team.

And if you want it set up for you — I offer a Done-For-You Setup where we hop on a 1-hour Zoom and I install, configure, and customize it live for your specific workflow.

Why I built this for Bristol CT businesses:

Most AI tools are SaaS subscriptions that add up fast. ARIA is a one-time purchase you own and can customize. The source code is MIT licensed — meaning if you want to modify it, you can.

I built it to be the kind of tool I’d actually use every day. And I do.

Get ARIA ($29)
Get ARIA Pro ($49)
Done-For-You Setup ($79)
